1. About these terms
Path is a service operated by 13113779 Canada Inc. (“Path”, “we”, “us”), a Canadian corporation with a mailing address at 6-2160 Highway 7, Suite 128, Vaughan, ON L4K 1W6, Canada. “You” means the person using Path.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these terms.
2. The service
Path helps you search for jobs and manage your job search. Features may include resume upload and parsing, ATS readability checks, AI-generated match analyses, tailored resume drafts, Path AI, AI Interview practice, job search and alerts, and an application tracker. Some features are free; others may use credits (see section 8).
Path is not an employer, recruiter or staffing agency, and does not apply to jobs on your behalf.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian's permission).
- Give accurate information, keep it up to date, and use an email address you control.
- Keep your sign-in credentials and devices secure. You're responsible for activity on your account to the extent permitted by law. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.
- Accounts are personal. Don't share your account or create accounts for someone else without their permission, and don't create multiple accounts to obtain extra free credits.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law, or use Path to discriminate, harass or deceive anyone;
- upload content you don't have the right to use, or someone else's resume or personal information without their permission;
- upload malware, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringes others' rights;
- use Path to create false or misleading credentials, or misrepresent your experience to employers;
- scrape, copy or resell job listings or other data from Path, or access it with bots or automated tools except as we allow;
- try to get around credit limits, usage limits, or security measures, or probe, overload or disrupt our systems;
- reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- use Path to build a competing product, or to train AI models.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload or enter, including your resume, notes and job descriptions (“your content”). You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process and display your content only as needed to operate, secure and improve Path for you, including sending it to our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems.
You're responsible for your content and confirm that you have the right to provide it. Tailored resumes and other outputs generated for you are yours to use.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
6. AI features and output
Match scores, keyword lists, rewrites, tailored resumes, Path AI responses, mock-interview questions and feedback, and similar results may be generated automatically by artificial intelligence. Please keep in mind:
- They are not professional advice. AI output is not career, legal, immigration, tax or financial advice, and it is not a prediction or guarantee that you will get an interview or a job.
- They may be inaccurate or incomplete. The AI can misread a resume or posting, miss relevant experience, or produce errors. Review everything before relying on it or sending it to an employer.
- You are responsible for what you submit. Make sure any resume or application you send is truthful and accurately reflects your own experience. We instruct the AI never to invent experience, but you must check.
- Results for the same input can vary between runs, and scoring methods may change as we improve the service.
- AI Interview is practice only. It is not a real employer interview, is not connected to an employer unless we clearly tell you otherwise, and does not make hiring decisions.
7. Job listings and third-party sites
Job listings on Path come from third-party job boards and data providers. We don't write, verify or endorse them, and we don't guarantee that a listing is accurate, current, legitimate or still open, or that any employer will respond.
Links to employer sites, job boards or other services take you outside Path. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them. Be cautious of any “employer” that asks you for payment or sensitive personal information, and let us know about suspicious listings.
8. Credits
Some features use credits. The current costs are shown in the app (for example, a match analysis costs 2 credits and a tailored resume costs 3). We deduct credits when you start the feature. If a feature fails because of an error on our side, we'll return the credits.
- Plan credits (included with a subscription such as Pro) are added at the start of each billing period and reset at the end of each period. Unused plan credits don't roll over.
- Pack credits (bought as a one-time credit pack) don't expire while your account is open.
- Free credits (such as sign-up credits) are promotional, have no cash value, and may be subject to conditions shown when they're offered.
- When you use a feature, plan credits are used before pack credits.
- Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred or exchanged for money, and are forfeited if your account is closed.
- Credits are non-refundable, except where required by law or as stated in these terms.
We may change credit costs or pack sizes in the future. Changes won't reduce credits you've already bought.
9. Subscriptions, payment and cancellation
- Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly, at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe; by paying you also agree to Stripe's terms.
- Automatic renewal. Before you subscribe, checkout shows the price, billing frequency and that the plan renews automatically until cancelled. By completing checkout, you affirmatively authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method at the stated recurring price and frequency until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel online from Account › Billing without having to contact sales. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless the law requires otherwise, your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for and then will not renew.
- Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods or unused credits.
- Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a price increase takes effect on your subscription. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may pause or downgrade your plan until it's resolved.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws in your province or country, including any right to cancel or obtain a refund that cannot be waived.
10. Changes to the service
We're constantly improving Path and may add, change or remove features, including what is free. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid feature during a period you've paid for, we'll tell you and, where appropriate, offer a pro-rated refund or credit.
We aim to keep Path available but don't promise uninterrupted service. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control.
11. Our intellectual property
Path, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos and the name “Path”, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Path for your own job search, in line with these terms. You may not copy, modify or distribute any part of the service except as these terms allow.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Path and delete your account at any time from Account › Security. Deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if required by law, or to protect other users or our systems. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix the problem first. If we close your account without cause, we'll refund any prepaid, unused portion of your subscription and unused pack credits.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as your content licence for deletion processing, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
13. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Path is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted, that AI output or job listings will be accurate, or that using Path will result in any interview, job offer or other outcome.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Path and its directors, employees and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, income, opportunities, employment or data, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) CAD $100.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and don't affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Path against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your misuse of the service, or your breach of these terms. This doesn't apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own fault.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the next paragraph, the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, and you and we agree to submit to them.
If you are a consumer living in another province or country, you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting any formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Path after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
18. General
- These terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us about Path.
- If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a right right away, we don't give it up.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- If mandatory consumer, language or accessibility laws where you live require a different form of contract, notice or language, those mandatory requirements prevail over this clause and these terms will be interpreted accordingly.
